Basic Life Support (BLS) Course
American Heart Association (AHA) International Training Center in Georgia offers the AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) course.
BLS course content is updated to reflect 2020 ECC and CPR Guidelines. It is the Instructor-led course, trainees/students participate in simulated clinical scenarios using high-fidelity CPR manikins with feedback device.
All participants will receive the AHA 2020 BLS Provider eBooks and internationally recognized AHA BLS Provider eCard.

Course Duration: 6 hours (full day)
Intended Audience: All health care professionals, doctors, nurses, dentists, paramedics, medical students and nonmedical personal.
Purpose:
Basic Life Support (BLS) is a fundamental course for the life threatening emergencies and resuscitation. The curriculum aims to teach trainees/students to promptly recognize the cardiac arrest in adults, children and infants, give effective chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED to achieve the most optimal outcome for a victim with a cardiac arrest during both in and out of hospital circumstances.
The training program includes:
- Cardiac arrest recognition;
- Basic Life Support algorithm according to the American Heart Association (AHA) 2020 guideline;
- Chain of survival in adults, children, and infants;
- One rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in adults, children, and infants;
- Two rescuers cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in adults, children, and infants;
- Use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
- Ventilation techniques using the bag-mask device and pocket mask;
- Rescue breaths in adults, children, and infants;
- First aid and resuscitation measures during chocking and upper airway obstruction with foreign body in adults, children, and infants;
- Principles of teamwork while performing high-performance team cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR);
- Chest compression fraction (CCF) calculation to achieve the most positive result for the victim;
Outcomes:
After completion of this course, the trainee/student will have the fundamental knowledge of the American Heart Association (AHA) 2020 Guideline and practical skills to help a victim with possible cardiac arrest.
After successful completion of the course, trainees/students will receive American Heart Association (AHA) certifications.
