  • Is the university accredited?

      The Georgian American University is accredited/authorized by Georgian Law and as Georgia takes part in Bologna process, GAU’s Diploma is recognized all over the world.

  • Can I continue my studies in any other country after graduation?

     GAU diploma has an international recognition and therefore it gives our graduates an opportunity to continue their studies in the universities they desire in different countries of the world.

  • Is GAU MD diploma enough to apply for residency program?

     Yes, you can continue your studies in residency after graduating from our MD program

  • Does GAU have exchange programs?

     Yes, you can find information about exchange programs here.

  • How many years is the MD program?

      6 years, including an year of internship

  • Is the course full-time or part-time?

     The program is full-time

  • Does tuition fee cover student accommodation?

      GAU doesn’t own any student accommodation at the moment, but can assist in finding one if needed

  • Does the university assist students in finding a job?

      The Student Service provides all the students with information about different job opportunities.

  • Are there any scholarships for international students?

      There are no scholarships

  • How do I apply?

     You can fill in the online application here.

  • What is the application fee?

     100$

  • Is the application fee refundable?

      No

  • What documents do I need to submit?

      Copy of your valid passport and copies of your academic record from your current or recent studies and its supplement (official transcript of grades) and a receipt of the application fee payment.

  • Do I need to translate the documents in English or Georgian to submit?

      All the documents that Admissions department requires, must be translated into English

  • Do I need a language certificate?

      Preferably, but not necessarily, as you’ll have to have an online interview in English during the admission process

  • When is the application deadline?

      There is no strict deadline for international students, but you’re advised to submit your documents at least couple months before the semester starts

  • How long does the application assessment take?

      3 to 5 working days

  • What happens after my application is assessed?

      You’ll get an email with a Google Meet invitation for an online interview

  • How do I know if the interview was successful?

      You’ll receive a conditional invitation letter together with an invoice by email

  • What do I do after I have a conditional invitation letter?

    Let the admissions office know if you take or decline the offer, if you want to proceed the admission process, you transfer your first semester tuition fee as per invoice and submit the receipt, so we can start your documents’         recognition process

  • Why do I need my documents’ recognition?

      According to the Law of Georgia on Higher Education, it is necessary to recognize the education, received in a foreign country by EQE (National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement). You can find the details on their website.

  • How long does the recognition process last?

      5-10 working days

  • When do I get an Unconditional letter?

     After your documents are recognized by EQE and the ministerial order is issued

  • How long does the admission process take?

     About a month in total

  • When do I need to transfer the tuition fee?

     At least a month before the semester starts

  • Is the tuition fee refundable?

     Only in case of refusal education recognition or entering the country

  • Can I pay in instalments?

     Yes, you can pay your annual tuition fee in two instalments

  • Can I transfer to GAU?

      Yes

  • From which semester can I transfer?

      You need to send us your marksheet to admissions@gau.edu.ge so we can tell which subjects GAU can recognize

  • Are the classes online?

     Ideally, classes are held on campus, but depending on ongoing pandemic situation, might be online (except practical subjects, of course)
