Call for Applications on exchange program at Eskişehir Technical University, Turkey!

Georgian American University is announcing a competition for the Erasmus+ exchange program funded by the European Commission at Eskişehir Technical University, Turkey! The winner of the competition will be able to visit the above-mentioned university and will receive funding for 1 academic semester (2024-2025 Spring Semester).

Terms for participants:

  • Undergraduate GAU students of Informatics program who are in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th semesters of their studies and Graduate students of the same program who are in the 1st and 2nd semesters of their studies are welcome to participate in the competition;
  • A prerequisite is English or Turkish B2;
  • According to the education law of Georgia, it is prohibited to stop the academic status of a student during his/her participation in the exchange program. Students being selected for the exchange program will also be registered as active students of Georgian American University. Thus, candidates should register and pay for every semester in GAU.

Funding Includes:

  • 800 Euros monthly for accommodation and other monthly expenses;
  • 275 EUR reimbursement for non-green travel expenses. In case of using green travel methods, the grant for travel will be 325 EUR;
  • Selected candidates should cover visa expenses themselves.

Documentation required from students:

  • Copy of active passport;
  • European format CV (in English, not more than 2 pages);
  • Language certificate or proof of language level (if any);
  • Letter of confirmation of student status (official document in English);
  • Transcript of records (official document in English);
  • Learning Agreement (for instructions check out A Guide for Georgian Students).

 Selection Process:

  • Review of documents (Georgian American University);

Students’s Selection and placement among the applicants will be based on the total success score which is calculated out of 100 as follows: %50 of GPA + %50 of Foreign Language Score. The selection and placement of students for mobility programs are based on a success score out of 100, calculated as 50% GPA and 50% foreign language proficiency. Additional considerations include a +10 point bonus for students with documented disabilities and a -10 point deduction for prior participation in similar Erasmus+ activities, mobility in the country of citizenship, withdrawal without notice, or applying for multiple mobility types. Non-attendance at mandatory meetings or training without excuse results in a -10 point penalty in future applications.

  • Document review/Scholarship awarding (Georgian American University).

Mobility period and duration:

  • Spring, 2024-2025 academic year.
