To complete the GAU BBA English Program, students must earn 240 credits averaging 60 credits/year.

The standard duration of tuition for the bachelor's degree program is 4 years (2 semesters/year). During one academic year students accumulate 60 credits, i.e. 30 credits per semester, however, depending on student's individual schedule, the number of credits per year can be more or less than 60, but not more than 75 and the program must be completed in a maximum of 6 years.

Bachelor of Business Administration English Program is divided into the following components:

  • Compulsory (core) courses – 198 credits
  • Optional (elective) subjects – 42 credits (students should accumulate 33 credits)
  • Free components – 18 credits

In the third, fourth and fifth semesters, students will be able to choose optional (elective) courses for general skill development. Students have to choose one optional business concentration in their seventh/eighth semester.

 To facilitate mobility and exchange programs, GAU BBA English Program includes free components with 25 credits, which can be earned through:

  • Other concentration subjects;
  • Academic educational programs in GAU Business School or other GAU educational programs of the same level;
  • Academic educational programs of the same level in other Georgian higher educational institutions;
  • Academic educational programs of the same level in foreign higher education institutions, providing these credits are recognized by the  Georgian legislation.

In the practical component, the Bachelor should earn 12 credits. Students will undergo training at the organization, with which the University and Business School have signed a memorandum of cooperation.

See the study plan for the Undergraduate English Program in Business Administration as an attached file.

The students can earn/accumulate credits only in case of successful completion of the work described in the course syllabuses, after receiving a positive assessment.

The maximum grade per academic course is 100 points.

Positive assessments:
(A) Excellent – 91 points and up;
(B) Very good – 81-90 points of the maximum assessment;
(C) Good – 71-80 points of the maximum assessment;
(D) Satisfactory – 61-70 points of the maximum assessment;
(E) Enough – 51-60 points of the maximum.

Negative assessments:
(FX) Didn’t pass – 41-50 points of the maximum assessments;
(F) Fail – 40 points or less of the maximum assessment.

Students with grade FX have the right to retake the final exam;
Students with grade F must retake the course.

The student’s assessment takes place during the entire academic semester. Consequently, the student’s final assessment is the sum of interim assessments and final exam results.

Final examination maximum score is 40 of the total 100 points; the remaining 60 points are distributed according to interim assessments.

Only the students who have earned the minimal number of 25 points during the semester through interim assessments are allowed to take the final exam.

Students who do not have a compulsory minimum score (25) will not be admitted to the final examination. The minimum mandatory score for the final exam is 16.

In order to determine the student's final rating and to encourage them to study well, the cumulative score, Grade Point Average* (GPA) is calculated at the end of the academic process (grade point average is also calculated at the end of each semester).

* Grade point average (GPA) is calculated as follows:
The points accumulated by the student in each course are multiplied by the number of credits for the specific course and then the total sum of these numbers is divided by the number of credits earned by the student.*

Tuition Fee

An annual tuition fee of the GAU Business Administration Bachelor's Degree English Program is 3.600* GEL (For Citizens of Georgia). Payments are made twice a year, with equal parts, before the beginning of each semester.

See the link for the tuition fee of non-resident students.

*The annual tuition fee for the students with state grants is the amount left after state grant is subtracted from 3.600 GEL*

Scholarships

1. TOP GRANT - Full Scholarship

Applicants who make it to the Top 1000 in the overall Bachelor's Exam Scores and choose Georgian American University will have their bachelor's studies fully funded at GAU - 240 credits (in case of re-election and /or additional selection of any subject, the student will have to pay the respective credits Cost).

2. Financial support based on Grade Point Average (GPA):
GAU students once they have completed their first semester are eligible to receive a discount based on GPA calculated at the end of each semester. The discount applies to their next semester tuition fee.

3. Special financial support:
If there are two family members studying at GAU at the same time, a discount of 20% is applied to each student.

* In case of certain overlaps or nonstandard situations, consider the following guidelines:
  • All these Scholarships are calculated as follows: The State Grant amount is subtracted from the total tuition fee, and the discount is then applied to the remaining amount;
  • If the student qualifies for several discounts (except for a discount based on GPA), only one discount is applied (the highest);
  • If the student with state grant qualifies for several internal discounts (including discount based on GPA), two discounts are applied. For example, if the student qualifies for 50% discount based on GPA, and 20% family member discount, state grant amount is subtracted from the total tuition fee and both internal discounts are applied to the remaining amount;
  • Percentage discounts are applied only to the principal annual tuition fee and not to the additionally selected subjects;
  • In case there are two family members qualifying for GAU family member discount, and one of them has to pay basic annual tuition fee, and the other student has to pay for an additionally selected subject, the 20% discount applies to the first student only;
  • In case one family member has a discount of more than 20%, the other student receives only the 20% family member discount;
  • If the student qualifies for several discounts, including fixed amount discounts, fixed amount discount is applied before the percentage discount.*
